THIRD GRADE MUSIC
MUSICAL LITERACY CLARIFYING OBJECTIVES
Execute the performance of major scale tones using the voice.
Use instruments to perform rhythmic and melodic patterns accurately and independently on classroom rhythmic and melodic instruments.
Interpret rhythm patterns in 3/4 and 4/4 meter signatures.
Recognize standard symbols and traditional terms for dynamics, tempo.
Use improvisation to create rhythmic and/or melodic ostinato.
Create rhythmic and melodic compositions using whole, half,quarter, beamed eighth notes and/or rests in 4/4 time.

Use music terminology when describing music that is presented aurally.
Use established criteria to evaluate music.
Identify the sounds of a variety of instruments and voices from various cultures, children's voices, and male/female adult voices.
